Whether college-bound, exploring a gap year, or entering a skilled career, our College and Career Resources help students identify post-secondary opportunities that reflect their God-given desires, passions and calling.

Freshmen Timeline

 

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3

 

Fall Semester
 

  • Review your course schedule and confirm you are on track to meet graduation requirements. Consult your academic advisor with any questions.
  • Commit to excellence in every class, Freshman year grades contribute to your cumulative GPA.
  • Create a My Future AZ account (MyFutureAZ) and complete a career interest assessment.
  • Create a College Board Account.
  • Begin exploring college and career pathways with prayerful consideration of your gifts and strengths.
  • Look for opportunities to serve within the school and church community. Participate in at least one meaningful extracurricular activity (athletics, fine arts, clubs, or service). Track volunteer and service hours.
  • Begin a resume to document activities, leadership roles, awards, and service.
     

Spring Semester
 

  • Review your second semester schedule and remain focused on academic excellence.
  • Meet with your academic advisor to plan sophomore year courses. Select classes that support graduation requirements, college readiness, and your developing interests.
  • Consider dual enrollment courses for fall of sophomore year and discuss eligibility and expectations with your advisor.
  • Finish the year strong and maintain integrity in all academic work.
  • Continue researching colleges and career options through a biblical worldview.
  • Update your My Future AZ profile as your interests develop.
  • Visit colleges of interest when possible and evaluate them thoughtfully.
  • Develop a summer plan that may include employment, volunteering, internships, academic enrichment, mission opportunities, or leadership development.
    Set a personal spiritual growth goal for the summer.

  • Enroll in Dual Enrollment courses if eligible, in consultation with your academic advisor.
  • Update your My Future AZ account (MyFutureAZ) and continue career exploration.
  • Continue exploring college and career pathways with prayerful consideration of your gifts and strengths.
  • Look for opportunities to serve within the school and church community.
