Ways to Give

Through generous tax-deductible donations by friends and supporters of Heart Cry Christian Academy, the school is able to offer financial aid to families who otherwise could not afford tuition.  Donors have several options to support Heart Cry Christian Academy. Donations to Heart Cry Christian Academy are tax deductible. Various options for giving are described below.

Prayer

“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”  James 5:16
The consistent prayers on behalf of our school are invaluable to its success in providing a quality Christian education. The school welcomes and deeply values the support of prayer partners that include parents, grandparents, staff, and friends of the school.

Cash, Check or Online Giving

Cash gifts are the most common form of giving to the school.  Heart Cry Christian Academy is currently involved in the following campaigns:

  • Campus Completion Fund - Help us pay off our new school building and indoor play structure.
  • Heart Cry Christian Academy Scholarship Fund - This ongoing campaign helps provide tuition assistance to families who need financial aid in order to send their children to Heart Cry Christian Academy.
  • Stronger Together Fund - HCCA strives to fund all of its programs through tuition to protect the integrity and sustainability of the school. Sometimes, however, needs will arise for equipment, technology, furniture, etc.  Stronger Together Fund gifts will help the school cover these types of costs without having to sacrifice funds going directly to instruction and the classroom.

Although cash gifts are tax deductible, donors should contact their tax advisor for maximum allowable deductions in a given year and carry over options for future years. Click here to donate online today.  If you prefer, checks should be made payable to Heart Cry Christian Academy.

Company Matching Gifts

Many companies have matching gift programs in which the company matches the gifts made by employees. Donors should check with their own employer to determine if their employer participates in a matching gift program.

Securities

Giving securities may be a very advantageous method of giving for many donors. A donor may receive favorable tax consequences by giving stocks that have appreciated.  Heart Cry Christian Academy can accept readily marketable securities such as those traded on the stock exchange. Typically, such stocks will be sold immediately by the school. The value of the securities is determined based upon the average of the high and low value of the security on the date of the gift.

Real Estate

Giving real estate that has appreciated in value allows the donor to receive credit for its present value as a deduction and avoid paying capital gains. A partial listing of real estate guidelines is shown below:

If the donor intends to use the donation for tax purposes, a recent appraisal shall be submitted to the school. The appraised value of the property must be determined by an authorized appraisal firm according to IRS regulations. Title to the property donated is held in the name of Heart Cry Christian Academy. All real property donations are subject to the school Board’s approval. Disposition of donated property is determined by the school board. Gifts of real property are accepted based upon benefits exceeding risks. In addition, the school considers the following factors: expenses and efforts required to hold, maintain, manage or dispose of the property.

In-Kind Donations

In-kind donations are tangible gifts of personal property, such as furnishings, equipment, as well as business / professional services that can be of important value to the school. All In-Kind donations are subject to the school Board’s approval. A tax benefit may be realized by the donor. The value of the donation is determined by the donor and according to IRS regulations.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is a unique opportunity for donors to utilize their estate as the source of a donation to the school. A donor considering a planned gift to the school should consult his/her financial advisor as to the best type of gift.

Designation of Gifts

A donor may designate the intended use and purpose of the gift at the time of donation. Unrestricted gifts are used at the discretion of the board.
